 Q: My customer requires a louver that is longer than my Trumpf tooling can create. What options do I have?
A: Due to the popularity of thick turret tooling, many parts have been designed with 4" long louvers. This creates a problem for many users of Trumpf style tooling. Wilson Tool developed the A-plus tooling style to solve this problem. Using the Trumpf punching machine in our Technology Center, we were able to develop a tooling style that can create louvers up to 4.5" long. A-plus tooling can also be used to create larger sizes of many common forms such as card guides and "lance and form: style louvers.
