Wilson Tool Adds Ultima Steel Dies to HP Thick Turret Line

Patent-pending dies help boost punching productivity

UltimaWHITE BEAR LAKE, MINN. (July 12, 2005) – Punch press fabricators looking to increase productivity and reduce downtime now have a new ally--Ultima(TM) Premium Tool Steel dies for Wilson HP™ Thick Turret. Patent-pending Ultima dies increase wear resistance by up to 100 percent over conventional tool steels. When used in tandem with Wilson Tool's line of Ultima punches, these dies help create an unsurpassed combination for thick turret fabrication.

Engineered for Demanding Applications
Ultima dies set a new benchmark for durability and performance in the most demanding punch press applications. They are specifically designed to dramatically improve tool life when punching materials that are abrasive or have high tensile strength. Ideal for long-run jobs, Ultima dies excel in any application in which punches and dies wear quickly.

"With Ultima dies our customers now have an option specifically designed for tough and long run jobs," said Glen Shuldes, applications engineer, Wilson Tool. "The tool steel's unique composition allows fabricators to operate more effectively and efficiently."

Remarkable Downtime Reductions
With regrind intervals up to twice as long as conventional tool steels, Ultima dies significantly reduce downtime and tool replacement costs. Breaking, chipping, cracking, tool fatigue and other downtime problems are minimized, providing long-term gains in productivity and profitability. "Tool fatigue and wear is now much less of a worry with Ultima," added Shuldes.

Everyday Reliability
Although Ultima tool steel components are strong enough for the most demanding applications, they are also effective on everyday jobs such as parting applications. "Parting is an important part of a fabricators daily work load. That's why our HP Dura-Blade™ parting tool comes standard with an Ultima punch and is also available with Ultima dies." said Shuldes.
