Tooling Times e-Newsletter - July 2015

Common Coin Forms - Coin features are one of the most common features applied to sheet metal. They are used to locate something, most often a fastener such as a rivet, stud or a screw. At one time these features were machined into the metal but today they are primarily being formed by compressing the material into shape. Even though these forms are relatively common, we recognize that there are many individuals who are newer to the industry and may not be fully aware of the forms that make up the coin category, as well as some of the key points regarding the tools that make them.
