It’s no secret that bending a long part often leads to deflection, or what some call “the canoe effect” if precautions aren’t taken to true up the top and bottom beams. This is due to simple physics: A down acting machine applies the most tonnage to the ends of the beams, which causes the angle of the bend to be tighter on the left and right and less so at the center.
