Progressive Stamping – A smart solution for complex, high volume parts - Progressive stamping is a popular method of metal fabricating for high volume parts where a series of holes, forms, bends, and other features are required, as well as creating the outer periphery of a finished part. A progressive die is typically used when stamping a finished part in a single press stroke is not possible or would be inefficient. Setting up a progression of operations is ideal when features are too close to one another to locate multiple tools in a single stamping layout. A progressive die also allows for automation when it comes to strip feeding, coil feeding, indexing, press cycling, misfeed detection, slug removal, and finished part collection.
